Here's what I do. I'm not sure if it's the most efficient way but tit's what works best for me. First of all, you'll wan to make sure that your sidebar in ITunes is shown. That's what'll allow you to see your phone and it's various folders.
If you haven't already done so, add the songs to your iTunes library by pressing control O. Then a dialog box will open that is like most windows dialog boxes.
After you've done that, open the music folder on your computer in a separate window. Select the songs you want and copy them to the clipboard. Then alt tab over to ITunes and use your arrows to find the folder that says music device. Tab a couple of times or so until you hear it say listbox and then paste in the songs.
Hopefully this makes sense. If not, ask again and someone will clarify. lol Good luck.

Hey, that's far more efficient than the way I did it to an iPod once, most of the steps which now I've forgotten.
Great idea Domestic Goddess!

As posted, the music is best moved via iTunes, so once you’ve got your music in iTunes, you’ll need to make sure the phone is actually syncing.
Connect it to the computer, and if iTunes doesn’t open on its own, or you’ve already got it open, and you don’t hear the sound that tells you the phone is syncing, press the alt key and arrow down to devices.
Right arrow and you should see the phone and cynic. If not you have a cable issue, or USB port issue.
The first time you connect the phone and try the syncing iTunes will ask you questions. It is easy after that.
I've posted iTunes help if you want directions on how to use it.

that would help thanks, i managed to ad songs to the library by adding the folders i want, it's just sending them to the iphone.

so, have you made sure your phone is indeed connected to the computer, as was suggested?

I personally prefer to just buy and download songs using the ITunes directly on the phone, but I'll have to give this a try.

I spent much time explaining iTune both for the phone and computer. The first step would be to learn if the phone is connected, as I've asked. No connection, no music.
With iTunes, because it is such a large program, you can't just say "I can't get music on my iPhone, tell me how." It is not difficult, but some things much be in place.
Answer the question if your [phone is indeed connected, and we can go from that point. Read "Here's some iTunes help" I am not bragging, but I do talk about much of the program.
I've not covered iTunes radio, but it works just like the rest or the program, so I assume it was just like adding blue socks to an outfit instead of black.

His post on ITunes is very helpful.
If the problem is that your phone isn't showing up in the list of places, then it's that sidebar thing I mentioned.

That is great only if all the music is purchased from iTunes. If he's got music on his computer, it will not sync via iCloud unless he has iTunes Match.
To sync wirelessly with his computer he must set his phone so that it syncs with the computer that is on the same network. The phone also must be powered or plug in to electric power.
I am not looking at a phone, so can't tell you exactly where the setting is located under settings, but I use it all the time.
My phone is in a Mophie case, so will not Sync with the USB cable that fits the Mophie, so must be done via my network. Sweet stuff actualy.
I have to remove the bottom of the case to use the lightening cable to sync regularly.

Hi, yes my phone is sinking, the cable is working okay. Yes i could buy from the apple store if i so chose, but no point in buying music from there that i already have and want playing. I have a playlist on the phone now, my partner did find a way to do it, but i will continue to read your posts and any other ideas and ways will certainly be appreciated.

I’d like to talk about syncing iDevices wirelessly, or over WiFi.
When you first set up sync, you must connect your device to the computer you wish to sync it with.
Open iTunes.
Next control tab, or tab until you find your iDevice, I am using an iPhone 5S for my device, so it says the title of my iPhone.
You’ll be on the summary tab, so tab until you find sync with this iPhone over WIFI and check that box.
After you do this you’ll be asked questions as to what you wish to sync and how.
Answer them and continue tabbing until you get to sync.
Now your device is ready.
The next time you want to Sync or back your device up open iTunes.
Make sure the device is powered, either plugged in to electric, or on battery power.
If you look on the iPhone, the device I am using you can find the sync section by going to settings, general, and 15th setting down from the top.
Tap that on and you’ll find the computer name and a sync and instructions on how it works.
In iTunes you will see your device as well, so can use either to start the syncing.
You can add music, pictures, apps, and anything in your iTunes library to the device or back to the computer. You can even back the device up to your computer.
The only thing you can’t do without the cable is use the computer to update the software on the device, if that is your preferred method of updating.
This page will explain it as well if you want to read Apples instructions.

I will add here, if your crazy like me and had ITunes for mac sink all of your music, your going to need to crated a play list so the mac can sink your music via the play list. If this is not done, then the mac will not sink your music because it will exceed the storage in your phone. Kinda neet, I actually am greatful it did not shove all that music into my 16 gig Iphone5. I think there is about 70 gigs do not quote me.

Post 16 by Jesse (Hmm!) on Friday, 01-Nov-2013 18:40:42

That's how I do it...I created a [playlist called Jesse's iPhone selection. Then, I add what I want to that playlist, and under the music tab of the iPhone settings in iTunes, I just have that playlist sync.

There are actually several ways to extend your iDevices storage and keep more files handy. You can get a wireless card for starters. It connect via bluetooth and is small.
